Puss in Boots with Evelyn

Puss in Boots with Evelyn

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Pedro. Pedro was Evelyn's best friend! They both loved to draw. They would draw pictures together in the garden every day. They drew flowers, trees, and funny animals!

One day, Pedro met Evelyn in the garden. He looked sad. "Evelyn, my father passed away," said Pedro. "He left the family windmill to my older brother, a pack mule to my middle brother, and only a cat to me."

Evelyn's red, wavy hair bounced as she shook her head. "Pedro, how will you survive with just a cat?" she said. "Don't worry!" Evelyn smiled. "I'll help you!"

The cat, who had been listening, interrupted them. "If you get me a pair of leather boots, I'll be very useful to Pedro!"

Evelyn and Pedro broke open their piggy bank. They had saved lots of coins! They bought a pair of boots for the cat. "Do you want to go with us?" asked the cat.

"I'll stay with my brothers," said Pedro. But Evelyn, who loved adventures, said, "Let's go!" She was so happy!

The cat and Evelyn went to the enchanted forest near Evelyn's house in Seattle. The cat, being a good hunter, caught two hens!

Evelyn and the cat reached the forest by magic! Evelyn loved using her superpower along the way. She painted with rainbow colors! She painted flowers with colorful stripes, trees with rainbow leaves, and even a blue sky with pink clouds!

"I have a plan," said the cat. "You'll understand soon."

The cat and Evelyn went to the enchanted castle in the forest. They gave the hens to one of the king's servants. "These are a gift from a young man who just moved here," they said.

The king loved the hens! Then, the cat and Evelyn set off to meet Pedro.

They met Pedro in the garden. "I did what I told you," said the cat. "Now, what's the plan?" Pedro asked Evelyn.

"I still don't know," said Evelyn, but she was sure the cat had a good reason for everything.

Pedro and Evelyn decided to swim in the pond. Suddenly, a royal carriage came! The cat ran off. "Stay put!" he said. "It's all part of the plan!"

The cat met the king. "Someone stole the clothes of my young master and Evelyn," said the cat.

The kind king invited the cat, Evelyn, and Pedro into the carriage. "I'll get you new clothes!" he said.

Evelyn thanked the king. She was so happy!

"Would you like to see my young master's lands?" the cat asked the king.

The king said yes. The cat pointed the carriage towards a powerful ogre's castle! Pedro didn't know what was happening, but he and Evelyn were excited about the adventure!

The cat jumped out of the carriage first. "Pedro, show the king around your lands," said the cat.

Pedro and Evelyn decided to play along. The cat went into the castle.

"What's a cat doing in my castle?" asked the wicked ogre.

"I admire your magical powers," said the clever cat. "Can you turn into a lion?"

Like magic, the ogre became a lion!

"Can you turn into a mouse?" asked the cat. The ogre, wanting to show off, turned into a mouse.

The cat, now a lion, ate the mouse! Now the castle belonged to Pedro! Pedro and Evelyn could play there all the time, especially with Evelyn's superpower! She painted rainbow stripes on the castle walls and turned the gray stones into colorful blocks.

The cat turned back into a cat. "Let's go see the king!" he said.

The king was amazed by the castle. "You are such kind and humble children," said the king. "My daughter might be a good match for you, Pedro."

Pedro and Evelyn were delighted! They wanted to meet the princess. But they decided to tell the truth.

"The cat did all of this," they said.

The king was even happier. "You are honest and good children," he said.

From that day on, Pedro, Evelyn, the cat, and the princess played together in the enchanted forest garden every day. They all loved drawing!

This truly is a happily ever after!
