The Mystery of the Missing Colors

The Mystery of the Missing Colors

What if dinosaurs went to school? Evelyn loved to think about dinosaurs, especially when her mom read her favorite dinosaur book. It had so many colors! Red, blue, yellow! Today was different, though. All the colors in Evelyn's dinosaur book were gone!

"Yuna!" Evelyn called to her furry friend. Yuna, a very old and wise dog, loved reading almost as much as Evelyn loved dinosaurs. Yuna wagged her tail, her way of saying, "What's up?" "The colors in my book are gone!" Evelyn cried, holding up the book.

Yuna sniffed the book. "Hmm," she seemed to say, "this is a mystery!" Evelyn knew just what to do. Even though she was only three years old, Evelyn was a super detective, especially when it came to dinosaurs! "We need clues!" She grabbed her detective hat—a big straw hat decorated with colorful seashells she'd found at the beach. Evelyn loved the ocean almost as much as dinosaurs!

School was the perfect place to start looking for clues. Evelyn's teacher, Ms. Lily, always said that school was where you learned new things every day, and Evelyn wanted to learn what happened to the colors in her book!

At school, all the children were drawing dinosaurs. Except, their crayons only made gray lines! No red, no blue, no yellow! "My stegosaurus needs its plates to be orange!" cried Leo. "My T-Rex is supposed to be green!" exclaimed Maya.

"This is a bigger mystery than I thought," Evelyn whispered to Yuna. Yuna, who was napping under Evelyn's desk, opened one eye, as if to say, "Tell me about it!"

Suddenly, Ms. Lily cried out, "Look!" Outside the window, a giant dinosaur peeked into the classroom! It was covered in colorful spots and stripes! "It's a Dino-saurus Rex!" shouted Michael, using the funny name he made up for dinosaurs.

The dinosaur opened its mouth and let out a giant sneeze! A gust of wind blew through the window, scattering something sparkly and colorful across the classroom. When the wind died down, everyone gasped. It was… glitter! But not just any glitter, color glitter! It landed on the crayons, on the children's drawings, and even on Yuna's nose!

"The Dino-saurus Rex brought back the colors!" Evelyn cheered, grabbing her red crayon and coloring a bright red heart on her triceratops.

From that day on, whenever Evelyn looked at her dinosaur book, she remembered the mystery of the missing colors and the day a friendly Dino-saurus Rex brought them back! She learned that sometimes, even though things change and grownups seem to know more, the best discoveries are the ones you make while you're still little!
