Evelyn’s Sparkling Smile

Evelyn’s Sparkling Smile

What if brushing your teeth was a magic trick? Evelyn, a three-year-old explorer, loved to brush her teeth. She liked to pretend her toothbrush was a train, chugging back and forth! One day, while brushing, she saw something amazing in the bathroom mirror. A sparkling, colorful door!

“Wow!” Evelyn gasped. She opened the door and peeked inside. Swirls of pink, purple, and blue swirled like cotton candy. Before she could stop herself, Evelyn tumbled right through the door!

She landed with a soft thud on… sand? Evelyn looked around. There was nothing but sand dunes as far as she could see. The sand shimmered with every color imaginable. This must be the Magic Desert! Evelyn had heard stories about it from her cuddly pet, Yuna. Yuna was 54 years old and loved to read books about faraway lands.

Suddenly, a voice whispered, "Hello!" Evelyn spun around. Standing behind her was a magnificent white horse with a single, spiraling horn on its forehead. It sparkled like a diamond! It was a unicorn!

"Hello!" Evelyn said, her eyes wide with wonder. “Do you know how to brush your teeth?” she asked.

The unicorn laughed, a sound like wind chimes. “We unicorns keep our teeth sparkling with rainbow dust! But we’ve heard that humans have a special way.”

Evelyn grinned, her own teeth gleaming. “It’s called brushing!” she exclaimed. “You use a special brush and move it back and forth, like a train!” She showed the unicorn her toothbrush.

The unicorn was very interested. “Can you teach us?” it asked.

Evelyn nodded excitedly. She showed the unicorns how to brush up and down, and all around. She even taught them how to floss! Soon, all the unicorns were brushing their teeth, their horns gleaming brighter than ever.

“Thank you, Evelyn,” said the unicorn. “You have given us the gift of a sparkling smile!” They showered her with shimmering rainbow dust. As the dust touched Evelyn, she felt a warm, happy feeling spread through her.

Just then, Evelyn heard Yuna calling her name. "Evelyn, where are you?"

Evelyn opened her eyes. She was back in her bathroom, her toothbrush still in her hand. Had it all been a dream? Then, she noticed a sprinkle of rainbow dust on her fingers. It sparkled and shimmered, just like the unicorns!

Evelyn smiled. She couldn’t wait to tell Yuna all about the magical desert, the friendly unicorns, and the importance of brushing your teeth! From that day on, every time Evelyn brushed her teeth, she remembered the unicorns and their sparkling smiles. And she always brushed extra carefully, just in case a magical door decided to open again!
