Once upon a time, there was a child named Emma who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains… The little house was snuggled among tall, green trees and had a porch with a swing where Emma and her mother liked to sit and watch the clouds drift by. Emma’s black, wavy hair always blew in the wind, and her green eyes sparkled with joy.
Emma loved to play pretend with her mother, and their favorite game was Unicorns. Emma would gallop around the house, pretending to be a magical unicorn, her laughter ringing through the air. But more than anything, Emma adored her grandmother! Her grandmother had sewn a beautiful red hood for her, and because of this, everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked wonderful on Emma, especially with her green eyes and black hair.
One day, Emma’s mother asked her to go to her grandmother’s house in the next valley. Her grandmother was feeling a bit sick and needed some help. “Emma, you must take the road, even though it’s longer,” her mother said. “The path through the forest is dangerous. I know you are curious, but please be careful!”
Emma’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food for her grandmother. There were juicy apples, sweet berries, and a loaf of warm bread. “Nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love,” her mother said with a smile. Little Red Riding Hood left home, her basket filled with food, and promised to return the next day. She resisted the urge to eat any of the food, being so curious about everything.
As soon as she left the house, Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf. The wolf looked mean, but he pretended to be nice. “Hello, Little Red Riding Hood! Where are you going?” he asked. “I’m taking food to my grandmother, who is sick,” she replied. The wolf said goodbye and went on his way, and so did Emma.
Emma took the longer but safer road. However, she didn’t know that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to get to her grandmother’s house before her. And he did!
The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate her in one big bite! Then, he put on her nightgown and got into her bed. When Emma arrived at her grandmother’s house, the wolf, dressed in her grandmother’s clothes, pretended to be her!
“Grandmother, why are your eyes so big?” Emma asked. “It’s so I can see you better, my dear,” the wolf said, trying to sound like the grandmother. “And why is your nose so big?” Emma asked. “It’s so I can smell you better,” the wolf replied, still pretending. Then, Emma asked, “Grandmother, why is your mouth so big?” The wolf couldn’t hold back any longer. He jumped out of bed and yelled, “It’s so I can eat you better!”
Just then, a wise old woodsman who had magical powers was walking through the forest. He heard Emma calling for help! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the woodsman entered the house and saved the day.
The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle, and put him to sleep. “The wolf ate my grandmother!” Emma cried. The woodsman smiled, “No evil can defeat goodness!” He waved his hands, and the grandmother popped out of the wolf’s belly!
Emma hugged her beloved grandmother, so happy to see her safe and sound. Wearing her red hood that covered her wavy hair, she thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food her mother had prepared.
That night, Emma, her grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Emma’s mother. And doesn’t this story make you hungry?
