Little Red Riding Hood with Grace

Little Red Riding Hood with Grace

Once upon a time, there was a child named Grace who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains. The house was tucked away in a quiet corner, surrounded by tall trees and babbling brooks. Grace’s mother was a kind and gentle woman who loved her daughter very much. They spent their days playing games, reading stories, and exploring the beautiful countryside around their home.

Grace loved to play make-believe. Her favorite games involved fairies, princesses, and brave knights. More than anything, Grace loved their grandmother! She had sewn a red hood for Grace to keep her warm. Because of this, everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked amazing on Grace, especially with her brown eyes and red wavy hair.

One day, Grace’s mother asked her to visit their grandmother in the next valley. Their grandmother was feeling a little sick and needed some care. “Take the road, Grace,” her mother said. “It’s longer, but safer. The path through the forest is dangerous, especially for a creative child like you.”

Grace’s mother packed a basket full of delicious food to help care for their grandmother. Nothing makes an illness better than a meal made with love! “Remember, Little Red Riding Hood,” her mother said, “take the road, not the forest path. You can have some of the food when you get there!” Grace promised to return the next day, resisting the urge to eat any of the food. After all, her creative mind already had plans for the delicious treats!

Little Red Riding Hood left home with her hood and the basket of food. As soon as she left the house, she met a wolf. The wolf was evil but pretended to be kind. “Where are you going, Little Red Riding Hood?” he asked. “I’m taking food to my grandmother,” she replied. The wolf said goodbye and went on his way. Grace continued on her journey.

Grace took the longer but safer road. What she didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to get to her grandmother's house first. And he did!

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! When Grace arrived, the wolf was wearing the grandmother’s clothes, pretending to be her.

“Grandma, why are your eyes so big?” Grace asked. “It’s to see you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the wolf replied in a raspy voice. Then Grace asked, “Why is your nose so big, grandma?” “It’s to smell you better, dear,” the wolf chuckled. Then Grace asked, “Why is your mouth so big, grandma?” The wolf couldn't resist any longer and pounced on Grace. “It’s to taste you better!” he roared.

A wise old woodsman, who had magical powers, was walking through the forest. The old man heard Grace in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the woodsman entered the house and saved the child.

The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle. He put him to sleep. Grace told the woodsman that the wolf had eaten her grandmother. The woodsman smiled, saying that no evil could defeat goodness. With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly!

Grace hugged her beloved grandmother, thankful that she was safe. She wore her red hood that covered her wavy red hair and thanked the woodsman. Then she offered him the delicious food her mother had prepared!

That night, Grace, her grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Grace’s mother. They all laughed and talked, happy to be safe and together. And doesn’t this story make you hungry?
