Once upon a time, there was a boy named Pedro. Pedro was Oliver's best friend! They played together every day. They loved to pretend they were dinosaurs! They roared and stomped around the garden!
One day, Pedro met Oliver in the garden. He looked very sad. "Oliver," he said, "my father passed away. He left the family windmill to my older brother, a pack mule to my middle brother, and just a cat to me."
Oliver looked at Pedro with big eyes. "How will you survive with just a cat?" he asked. "Don't worry," Oliver said. "I will help you! I am brave! We will figure it out!"
The cat interrupted them. "If you get me a pair of leather boots, I will prove very useful!" he said.
Oliver and Pedro ran to their secret hideout! It was a cave in the garden, their secret place to play dinosaurs. They had a piggy bank there with many coins saved up from their birthday money. They used the coins to buy a pair of boots for the cat.
"Do you want to go with me?" asked the cat.
Pedro shook his head. "I have to stay with my brothers," he said. But Oliver loved adventures! He couldn't say no! So he went with the cat.
They traveled to the enchanted forest near Oliver's house in Dallas! The cat was a good hunter and caught two hens for them to eat! The cat was full of magic! They reached the forest with a magical hop and skip! Oliver showed the cat his superpower! He lifted a huge rock with his super strength!
"I have a plan," said the cat. "You will see!"
They headed to the enchanted castle in the forest. They gave the hens to one of the king's servants. "These are a gift from a young man who just moved to the kingdom," said the cat.
The hens were well received! The king even gave them a gold coin! Then they set off to meet Pedro!
The cat, Oliver, and Pedro met in the garden. "I gave the hens to the king," said the cat. "Now we wait for the king to come to the castle."
"What is your plan?" asked Pedro. But Oliver still didn't understand the plan.
They played in the garden until Pedro and Oliver decided to go swimming in the pond. Just then, the cat ran up to them. "Stay here!" he said. "It is all part of the plan!"
The cat ran to meet the king, who was in his carriage. "Someone stole the clothes of my young master, Oliver!" said the cat. "And Oliver is very scared!"
The king was a kind man! He invited the cat, Oliver, and Pedro to ride in the carriage. "I will get you some new clothes!" he said.
Oliver thanked the king! He was a brave boy! He never gave up!
The cat then asked the king, "Would you be interested in seeing the lands of my young master, Pedro?"
The king was curious! He said yes! The cat directed the carriage to the castle of a powerful ogre! Pedro was surprised, but he loved an adventure! He went with the cat, Oliver, and the king.
When they arrived, the cat jumped out of the carriage. "Show the king around your lands," said the cat to Pedro.
Pedro and Oliver decided to play along! They showed the king the beautiful gardens and the sparkling pond.
The cat snuck into the ogre's castle. The wicked ogre was surprised to see a cat!
"I admire your magical powers," said the cat. "Could you transform into a lion?"
The ogre was very proud of his powers! He turned into a lion!
"Could you turn into a mouse?" asked the cat.
The ogre, wanting to show off, turned into a mouse!
The cat, now a lion, ate the mouse! He was very clever! Now the castle belonged to Pedro!
The cat, who also had magic powers, turned back into a cat. He went to meet the king, Pedro, and Oliver. "Come on in! The castle is yours!" said the cat.
The king was dazzled by the castle! He was also impressed by Pedro and Oliver's humility. "I think you should meet my daughter," said the king. "She is a lovely princess. Maybe you two could have a beautiful family together!"
Pedro and Oliver were happy! They loved the idea of meeting the princess, the king's daughter. But they decided to be honest. They told the king about the cat's adventures.
The king was even happier! He loved children who were honest and good!
From that day on, Pedro, Oliver, the cat, and the princess played together every day in the enchanted forest garden. They even started a dinosaur club!
This truly is a happily ever after!
