The Ugly Duckling with Elijah

The Ugly Duckling with Elijah

It was summer! The sun shone brightly, turning everything a cheerful yellow. It was like the sun was always smiling! Elijah loved summer!

Elijah had just moved from his house in Fort Worth to a farm nearby. His family wanted to be closer to nature. Elijah loved the move! He could play freely in the fields and woods, especially with his superpower. Elijah could travel through space!

There was a beautiful stream on the farm and a lake where Elijah could swim. There were lots of animals on the farm, but Elijah was always fascinated by the storks. They had long legs and walked so gracefully! Elijah tried to imitate their walk. He was curious about everything!

One day, Elijah was playing with the ducklings in the lake. He saw a duck sitting on eggs! It was so magical! The eggs started to crack, and little ducklings hatched! But one egg, the biggest of all, didn't hatch. The duck seemed worried. She kept sitting on the egg.

Days later, Elijah returned to the lake. The duck was gone! The large egg had cracked, and there was another baby duck among the ducklings. It was bigger and had different colored feathers, a different beak, and a different way of walking. It looked sad.

Elijah loved to make friends with animals. He went to talk to the different duckling. “Why are you sad?” he asked. “There’s a whole farm and a beautiful garden to explore!” The duckling replied, “I’m different from my siblings, and I don’t like it. All the other ducks in the lake laugh at me!”

“We’ll love your company!” said Elijah. “Come back tomorrow, and we’ll play! I have a special hiding place, my Space station. It’s a safe place to play!”

The next day, Elijah went back to the lake. The duckling was gone! He was so sad that he decided to leave and find other friends. But that didn't work out either. Everywhere he went, the other ducks made fun of him.

It was a difficult journey for the duckling. The seasons changed, and he always had to move because he wasn't welcome. He only felt comfortable in nature.

Elijah played by the lake every day but never saw his duckling friend. He played with his interest in Space.

Spring arrived, and the duckling loved spring just as Elijah loved summer!

After a long and difficult journey, the duckling found himself near the lake where he was born. He approached cautiously, not wanting his siblings to laugh at him. But when he reached the water's edge, he saw his reflection! He was no longer an ugly duckling, but a beautiful swan! That’s why everyone thought he was so strange!

That day, Elijah went to play in the water. He recognized his friend! What a special reunion! Elijah was amazed at his friend, now a swan. He was so curious! They finally played happily together.

Elijah and the swan understood that being different wasn't wrong. It was just being who they are. Being different is just being yourself. And everyone is different!

And isn’t being different just being who we are?
