It was summer! The sun was bright, and the air smelled like flowers. Logan loved summer! Everything seemed cheerful and colorful, as if the sun was always smiling! Logan's family had moved from their house in New York to a farm nearby. Their parents wanted to be closer to nature. Logan loved the move! They could play freely there, especially with their superpower, Controlling machines. There was a beautiful, peaceful stream on the farm and a lake where Logan could swim!
There were many animals on the farm, but Logan was always fascinated by the storks and their long legs. They walked so gracefully! Logan tried to imitate the storks' walk. They were shy, but they wanted to be like the storks. They walked slowly, lifting their legs high, just like the storks!
One day, Logan was playing with the ducklings in the lake. Suddenly, they saw a duck sitting on eggs! What a magical moment! Logan watched as the eggs started to crack, and little ducklings hatched! But one egg, the largest of all, didn't hatch. The duck seemed worried but kept sitting on it.
Days later, Logan returned to the lake. The duck was no longer there! The large egg had cracked, and among the ducklings, there was another baby. It was bigger, with different colored feathers, a different beak, and a different manner. It seemed sad.
Logan easily made friends with animals. They went to talk to the different duckling. "Why are you sad?" Logan asked. "There's a whole farm and a beautiful garden to explore!" The duckling replied, "I'm sad because I'm different from my siblings. I don't feel good about it. All the other ducks in the lake laugh at me and make me feel bad."
Logan said, "I would love your company! I will return tomorrow to play." Logan told the duckling about their hiding place, Secret tower. "It's a safe place for us to play!"
Logan returned the next day as promised, but the duckling was no longer there. The duckling was so sad that they decided to leave and try to find other friends. But this didn't work out either. Everywhere they went, the other ducks mocked them.
It was a difficult journey for the duckling. The seasons changed, and they always had to move because they never seemed to be welcomed. They only felt embraced by nature.
Logan played by the lake every day but never saw their duckling friend. They played with their robots. Logan loved robots and could control them with their superpower!
Spring arrived, and the duckling loved spring just as Logan loved summer! After a long and difficult journey, the duckling found himself near the lake where they were born. They approached cautiously, not wanting their siblings to laugh at them. But when they reached the water's edge, they saw their reflection, like in a mirror! They were no longer an ugly duckling but a beautiful swan! That's why everyone thought they were so strange!
That day, Logan went to play in the water and recognized their friend! What a special reunion! Logan was amazed at their friend, now a swan. They were shy, but they were happy to see their friend. They finally played joyfully!
Logan and the swan understood that being strange wasn't wrong, but just being who they are! Being strange is being different, and everyone is!
And isn't being different just being who we are?
