Little Red Riding Hood with Lily

Little Red Riding Hood with Lily

Once upon a time, there was a child named Lily who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains. The house was snuggled into the side of a mountain and had a view of the valley below. Lily loved playing with animals. They liked squirrels, birds, and rabbits! But more than anything, they adored their grandmother!

Lily’s grandmother had sewn a red hood for them to keep them warm. Because of the hood, everyone called them Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked great on Lily, especially considering their green eyes and brown hair.

One day, Lily’s mother asked them to go to their grandmother’s house in the next valley. Their grandmother was feeling a bit sick and needed care. “Lily,” her mother said, “Please take the road to your grandmother’s house. It is longer, but safer. The forest path is dangerous, and you are so friendly. We don’t want any trouble!”

Lily’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food to help care for their grandmother. Nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love! Lily, or rather, Little Red Riding Hood, left home with their hood and the basket of food. “I’ll be back tomorrow, Mother!” Lily called, as they left. Lily resisted eating any of the food. They were too excited to see their grandmother!

As soon as Lily left the house, they met a wolf! The wolf was evil but pretended to be kind. “Hello, little one,” the wolf said. “Where are you going?”

Lily told him they were taking food to their grandmother. “Goodbye,” the wolf said. “See you later.” Then the wolf went on his way, and so did Lily.

Lily took the longer but safer path. What Lily didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to reach their grandmother’s house before them. And so he did.

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! When Lily arrived at their grandmother’s house, the wolf, dressed in the grandmother’s clothes, pretended to be her to deceive Lily.

“Grandma,” Lily said, “Your eyes are so big!”

“It’s to see you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the wolf said.

“Grandma, your nose is so big!” Lily said.

“It’s to smell you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the wolf said.

“Grandma, your mouth is so big!” Lily said.

The wolf couldn’t resist any longer and pounced on Lily. “It’s to taste you better!” he said.

A wise old woodsman, who had magical powers, was walking through the forest. The old man heard Lily in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house and saved the child.

The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle, and put him to sleep. Lily told the woodsman that the wolf had eaten their grandmother. The woodsman smiled and said, “No evil can defeat goodness!” With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly!

Lily hugged their beloved grandmother! Wearing her red hood that covered her straight hair, Lily thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food her mother had prepared!

That night, Lily, their grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Lily’s mother.
