Little Red Riding Hood with David

Little Red Riding Hood with David

Once upon a time, there was a child named David who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains. The house was made of wood and had a cozy fireplace that crackled and popped at night. David loved their little house because it was nestled among the trees and the air was fresh and clean.

David was a very adventurous child. They loved to learn about history and would spend hours reading books about kings and queens and knights and dragons. David even had a secret hideout in the woods where they would play games with their imaginary friends. More than anything, David loved their grandmother! She lived in a little house in the next valley, and David would visit her every week. Their grandmother had sewn a red hood to keep David warm, and because of this, everyone called them Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked great on David, especially considering their green eyes and brown hair.

One day, David’s mother asked them to go to their grandmother’s house. Their grandmother was feeling a bit sick and needed care. “David, I need you to go to your grandmother’s house in the next valley,” their mother said. “She's not feeling well and needs you to help.”

“But Mother, the path through the forest is so much faster!” David said.

“I know, David,” their mother said. “But it’s also much more dangerous. You’re such an adventurous child, and I don’t want you to get into trouble! Let’s take the road. It’s longer, but it’s safe. Promise me you’ll be careful?”

“Of course, Mom!” David said. “Don’t worry. I’ll be careful!”

David’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food to help care for their grandmother because nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love! There were juicy apples, sweet berries, a loaf of freshly baked bread, and a pot of creamy soup. David, or rather, Little Red Riding Hood, left home with their hood and the basket of food, promising to return the next day! David resisted eating any of the food, considering their Adventurous personality.

As soon as Little Red Riding Hood left the house, they met a wolf. The wolf was evil but pretended to be kind. “Hello, Little Red Riding Hood,” the wolf said. “Where are you going?”

“I’m going to my grandmother’s house,” David said. “She’s not feeling well.”

“That’s a shame,” the wolf said. “I’m going that way too. I’ll see you later!”

And so, the wolf went on his way, and so did David.

David took the longer but safer path. However, what David didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to reach their grandmother’s house before them. And so he did.

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! Then, the wolf put on the grandmother’s clothes and got into bed. He waited for David.

When David arrived at their grandmother’s house, they saw the wolf in bed. Their grandmother looked strange! “Grandma,” David said, “Why are your eyes so big?”

“That’s to see you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the wolf said, pretending to be the grandmother.

“Grandma,” David said, “Why is your nose so big?”

“That’s to smell you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the wolf said, pretending to be the grandmother.

“Grandma,” David said, “Why is your mouth so big?”

The wolf couldn’t resist any longer and pounced on David! “That’s to taste you better!” he said.

Just then, a wise old woodsman, who had magical powers, was walking through the forest. The old man heard David in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house and saved the child.

The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle, and put him to sleep.

“The wolf ate my grandmother!” David said to the woodsman.

The woodsman smiled. “No evil can defeat goodness!” he said. With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly! David hugged their beloved grandmother!

“Thank you, Mr. Woodsman,” David said. “My mother made a basket full of delicious food for you. I’ll take care of you!”

David, wearing their red hood that covered their straight hair, offered the woodsman the delicious food their mother had prepared.

That night, David, their grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by David’s mother.

And doesn’t this story make you hungry?
