Once upon a time, there was a child named Jackson who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains. The house was tucked away in a cozy corner, surrounded by trees with leaves that were always green. Jackson and their mother loved to spend their days playing in the forest and looking at the beautiful clouds that floated by.
Jackson loved to play Dragons! They would pretend to roar and fly through the air, flapping their arms like wings. But more than anything, Jackson adored their grandmother! She had the sweetest smile and the warmest hugs. Their grandmother had sewn a red hood to keep Jackson warm. Because of this, everyone called them Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked great on Jackson, especially considering their black eyes and black hair.
One day, Jackson’s mother asked them to go to their grandmother’s house in the next valley. Their grandmother was feeling a bit sick and needed care. “Jackson, please take the road,” their mother said. “It’s longer, but it’s safer. The path through the forest is very dangerous.” Their mother knew Jackson was a brave child, so she didn’t worry too much.
Jackson’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food to help care for their grandmother. Nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love! Jackson, or rather, Little Red Riding Hood, left home with their hood and the basket of food, promising to return the next day. They resisted eating any of the food, considering their brave personality.
As soon as Jackson left the house, they met a wolf. The wolf was evil, but he pretended to be kind. “Hello, Little Red Riding Hood,” he said. “Where are you going?” Jackson told him they were taking food to their grandmother. “Goodbye!” said the wolf. “I’ll be on my way!” And then the wolf went his way, and so did Jackson.
Jackson took the longer but safer path. However, what Jackson didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to reach their grandmother’s house before them. And so he did!
The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! When Jackson arrived at their grandmother’s house, the wolf, dressed in the grandmother’s clothes, pretended to be her to deceive Jackson.
“Grandma,” said Jackson, “your eyes are so big!”
“That’s to see you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the wolf, disguised as the grandmother, said.
“Grandma,” said Jackson, “your nose is so big!”
“That’s to smell you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” the disguised wolf said.
“Grandma,” said Jackson, “your mouth is so big!”
The wolf couldn’t resist any longer. He pounced on Jackson and said, “That’s to taste you better!”
Just then, a wise old woodsman, who had magical powers, was walking through the forest. The old man heard Jackson in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house and saved the child.
The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle. He put him to sleep.
“The wolf ate my grandmother!” Jackson said.
The woodsman smiled. “No evil can defeat goodness!” With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly!
Jackson hugged their beloved grandmother! Wearing their red hood that covered their curly hair, Jackson thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food their mother had prepared!
That night, Jackson, their grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Jackson’s mother.
And doesn’t this story make you hungry?
