Once upon a time, there was a boy named Pedro. Pedro was a friend of Liam. They played together every day because they both liked toys. They would build towers, race cars, and play with their stuffed animals. Liam was a very cheerful boy with black wavy hair and brown eyes.
One day, Pedro met Liam in the garden. "Liam," he said, "my father passed away. He left his windmill to my older brother, a pack mule to my middle brother, and only a cat to me!"
Liam was shocked. "How are you going to survive with just a cat?" he asked. "Don't worry, Pedro," Liam said, smiling. "I'll help you!"
But before Pedro could answer, the cat interrupted. "If you get me a pair of leather boots," he said, "I will prove very useful to Pedro!"
Liam and Pedro thought about the cat's offer. They had saved many coins in their piggy bank! "We can buy you some boots," Liam said.
They broke open their piggy bank and bought the cat a pair of shiny leather boots. "Thank you, my friends!" the cat said. "Would you like to come with me on an adventure?"
Pedro said he would stay with his brothers, but Liam, who never turned down an adventure, said, "Yes, please!"
The cat and Liam flew to the enchanted forest. Liam showed the cat how to fly like a bird! They flew high above the trees, feeling the wind in their hair.
The cat landed in the forest and caught two hens. "This is part of the plan," the cat said to Liam.
Then the cat and Liam walked to the enchanted castle in the forest. They gave the hens to the king's servant, saying they were a gift from a young man who had recently moved to the kingdom. The king's servant was very happy with the gift.
Then the cat and Liam met Pedro in the garden. "Pedro," the cat said, "I have a plan. It's all going to work out."
Pedro asked Liam, "What's the plan?" Liam didn't know either, but he trusted the cat.
They all played in the garden. Then Pedro and Liam decided to go for a swim in the pond. Suddenly, a royal carriage appeared, and the cat ran off. "Stay here," he said. "It's all part of the plan!"
The cat ran to the king, who was in the carriage. "Your Highness," the cat said, "someone stole the clothes of my young master, Liam. I need your help!"
The king was a kind man. "Of course," he said. "Come with me. I will arrange new clothes for you."
Liam thanked the king. He was so cheerful and happy to be riding in a royal carriage.
The cat asked the king, "Would you like to see the lands of my young master Pedro?" The king agreed.
The cat directed the carriage to the castle of a powerful ogre. Pedro didn't know what was happening, but he and Liam were enjoying the adventure!
When they arrived, the cat jumped out of the carriage. "Pedro," he said, "show the king around your lands."
Pedro and Liam decided to play along while the cat carried out his plan.
The cat walked into the ogre's castle. The ogre saw him and said, "What's a cat doing in my castle?"
"I greatly admire your magical powers," the cat said. "Could you please turn me into a lion?"
The ogre, wanting to show off his magic, turned the cat into a lion.
"Could you also turn me into a mouse?" the cat asked.
The ogre turned into a mouse! The lion, who was really the cat, ate the mouse!
Now the castle was Pedro's! Pedro and Liam were so happy. They could play in the castle, especially with Liam's superpower, Flying like a bird!
The cat, who also had magical powers, turned back into a cat. He went to meet the king, Pedro, and Liam. "Come on in," he said. "The castle is yours!"
The king was dazzled by the incredible castle. He was even more impressed by the humility of Pedro and Liam. "I would like to introduce you to my daughter," the king said. "She is a wonderful girl. Perhaps you two could be a couple!"
Pedro and Liam were delighted. They couldn't wait to meet the princess! But they decided to tell the truth.
"The castle is actually Pedro's," Liam said. "It's all thanks to the cat's clever plan."
The king was even happier. He loved children who were honest and had good values.
From that day on, Pedro, Liam, the cat, and the princess played together every day in the enchanted forest garden. They all loved to play with toys!
This truly is a happily ever after!
