The air smelled like sunshine and pancakes! Sophia knew it was going to be a good day. She peeked over the edge of the table, her tiny hand reaching for a blueberry.
“Someone’s eager for breakfast!” Mom chuckled, placing a plate in front of Sophia. “Big day today, remember? We’re packing up our home and moving to our new spaceship house!”
Sophia’s eyes widened. She almost forgot! They were going to live in a real spaceship! But then she remembered something else. “Mommy, what about Little Bird?” Sophia asked, her voice small. She loved watching the little bird sing in the backyard every morning. It had bright blue feathers and a song that sounded like tiny bells.
Mom smiled and pointed outside. Perched on the windowsill was the Little Bird, chirping cheerfully. “He’s coming with us, silly! Spaceships need music too!”
Sophia giggled. That’s right! The spaceship had a special garden room just for Little Bird. It even had pretend stars that twinkled at night.
After breakfast, boxes filled with their belongings were gently loaded onto a giant floating platform. Sophia made sure her favorite teddy bear, Dr. Fuzzy Bear, was carefully tucked in. Moving was hard work, even if it was to a spaceship!
As they floated through the sky, Sophia looked down at Dallas. It looked so tiny from up here! She waved goodbye to her old house, her heart a little bit sad but also excited.
Their new spaceship house was amazing! It had round windows that showed the Earth spinning slowly below. Sophia’s room had glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling and a giant screen where she could watch rocket races!
Little Bird loved his new garden room. He flew around excitedly, singing a happy song. The stars on the ceiling twinkled along with his tune. Sophia laughed, her heart full of joy.
At night, tucked into her spaceship bed, Sophia listened to Little Bird’s gentle chirps. She knew even though they had moved, home wasn’t a place, it was wherever Mom and Little Bird were. And right now, it was in this amazing spaceship, flying amongst the stars!
