Once upon a time, there was a curious and adventurous child named Jacob. Jacob loved to go on walks, especially in the forest. He would dream about experiments, and today was a great day for that! Jacob was looking at some insects in a grassy clearing in the middle of the forest. He was watching a trail of ants when he heard some voices.
"This forest is so big!" said one voice.
"We're so far away from home!" said another voice.
"I hope we can find a place to stay!" said the third voice.
Jacob was curious! He wanted to know who was talking. He walked quietly through the trees until he saw them.
There were three little piglets! They were all very different. The first piglet had curly pink hair and was wearing a yellow dress. The second piglet had long, straight hair and was wearing a green shirt. The third piglet had short, spiky hair and was wearing a blue sweater.
"Hello!" said the piglets all at once.
"Hi!" Jacob said. He felt a little shy.
"Do you live in a house?" asked the piglets.
Jacob was confused. "Of course, I live in a house! I live in a big house in Chicago with my family!"
The youngest piglet giggled. "Well, we left our mother's house," she said. "We grew up! Our mother said we should build a house because the forest is dangerous. There's a wolf who likes to eat piglets!"
Jacob gasped! "A wolf?"
"Yes!" said the piglets. "That's why we need to build houses!"
Jacob immediately smiled. "I can help you build houses!" he said. "That's my favorite thing to do!"
The piglets were happy! Each piglet decided to build her own house. The first piglet wanted to build a house out of straw. She tied it up in big blocks and didn't even add a door or window! She wanted to finish quickly so she could play.
"Come on, Jacob!" she called. "Help me!"
"I will," said Jacob. "But I will help all three of you a little bit so everyone can play together!" Jacob loved to play with his superpower - he could invent anything!
The second piglet decided to gather wood from the forest. She built a cabin with a roof, doors, and windows. But she saw her sister playing and didn't bother putting in many nails. Soon, she went to play too.
Jacob went to help the third piglet. She wanted to build a house like her mother's house - with bricks, cement, glass windows, and a secure roof. It took a long time to build. Jacob and the piglet sweated from all the work! But they laughed while they were doing it! They saw the two other piglets playing and having fun.
Finally, the third piglet and Jacob finished the whole job. The piglet invited Jacob to eat something in her new house! Jacob was excited! They could cook something on the wood stove they had built.
That night, the wolf appeared! The piglets and Jacob were scared! The wolf went straight to the straw house. With just one strong blow, he knocked the whole house down! The piglet who lived there ran through the dark forest. The wolf couldn't catch her.
"We should go to my Secret lab!" Jacob said, worried. It was his hiding place.
The wolf, who was hungry and didn't want to waste time, went straight to the wooden cabin. It took two strong blows, and soon the house fell apart. The second piglet ran and found her sister hiding in the forest.
The wolf, already irritated, went to blow down the third house. It was made of bricks, and a delicious smell was coming out of the chimney. He blew, blew, blew, but nothing happened. The house didn't fall. He decided to go down the chimney! It seemed like a good idea. And when he started to descend, he smelled something burning! His tail was on fire!
This time, it was the wolf who was scared! He quickly ran away!
The two hiding piglets laughed when they saw the wolf running away. They were finally able to return. Their sister welcomed them, and along with Jacob, they had a delicious soup! It felt good to be inside a warm and safe house!
And so, Jacob and the three little piglets enjoyed that night, realizing that sometimes, good things take time!
