It was summer! The sun was shining so brightly, and the flowers were all blooming! It was like the whole world was wearing a big, colorful smile! Isabella loved summer!
Isabella and her family had just moved from their house in Los Angeles to a farm close by. They wanted to be closer to nature. Isabella loved the farm! She could play freely there, especially with her superpower, Bringing toys to life!
The farm was a magical place! There was a beautiful stream where the water sparkled like diamonds, and a big lake where Isabella could swim! She loved watching the storks walk around the farm. Their long legs moved so gracefully! Isabella tried to imitate their walk, which was funny!
One day, Isabella was playing with the ducklings in the lake. She noticed a duck sitting on a nest of eggs. What a magical moment! She saw the eggs start to crack, and tiny ducklings hatch! But one egg, the biggest one of all, didn’t hatch. The duck looked worried, but she kept sitting on it.
Days later, Isabella went back to the lake. The duck was gone! The big egg had cracked, and there was a baby duck among the other ducklings. He was bigger than the other ducklings, with different colored feathers, a different beak, and a different way of walking. He looked sad.
Isabella loved animals, so she went to talk to the different duckling. She asked, “Why are you sad? You have the whole farm and a beautiful garden to explore!”
“I’m sad because I’m different from my brothers and sisters,” the duckling said. “All the other ducks laugh at me. They make me feel bad.”
“Oh, we would love to have you as a friend!” Isabella said. “Come back tomorrow, and we can play together! I have a secret hiding place called Dream Island. It’s a safe place where we can play!”
The next day, Isabella returned to the lake, but the duckling was gone. He was so sad that he decided to leave the farm to find other friends. But that didn’t work out either. Everywhere he went, the other ducks made fun of him.
It was a difficult journey for the duckling. The seasons changed, and he always had to move because he wasn’t welcomed anywhere. The only thing that made him happy was nature.
Isabella went to play by the lake every day. She never saw her duckling friend again. She loved playing with her dolls. She imagined they were all going on adventures together.
Spring arrived! The duckling loved spring just like Isabella loved summer!
After a long and difficult journey, the duckling found himself back near the lake where he was born. He approached cautiously, not wanting his brothers and sisters to laugh at him. But when he reached the water’s edge, he saw his reflection in the water. He wasn’t an ugly duckling anymore. He was a beautiful swan! That’s why everyone thought he was so strange!
That day, Isabella went to play in the water. She recognized her friend! It was a special reunion! Isabella was amazed at how beautiful her friend looked as a swan. They played happily together.
Isabella and the swan understood that being strange wasn’t wrong. It was just being who they were. Being strange was just being different, and everyone is different! And isn't being different just being who we are?
