Little Red Riding Hood with Abigail

Little Red Riding Hood with Abigail

Once upon a time, there was a child named Abigail who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains. The house had a warm fireplace and a cozy little bed for Abigail, just like her mother’s. Abigail had black, straight hair and blue eyes that sparkled like the sky on a sunny day! Abigail loved to play Mermaids, splashing in the little stream near their home, pretending to be a beautiful Mermaid with a flowing tail! But more than anything, Abigail adored their grandmother!

Abigail’s grandmother had sewn a beautiful red hood to keep Abigail warm, and because of this, everyone called Abigail Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked so good on Abigail, especially considering her blue eyes and black hair.

One day, Abigail’s mother asked Abigail to go to their grandmother’s house in the next valley. Their grandmother was feeling a bit sick and needed care. “Abigail, please take the road to grandmother's house,” said Abigail’s mother. “It’s longer, but it’s safer than the path through the forest.” Abigail’s mother explained that the forest was dangerous because Abigail had a strong Explorer spirit and loved adventure, so she knew Abigail might want to explore the forest, even though it was dangerous.

Abigail’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food to help care for their grandmother, because nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love! Abigail, or rather, Little Red Riding Hood, left home with their hood and the basket of food, promising to return the next day! Abigail resisted eating any of the delicious food in the basket. Abigail knew that a true explorer has to be careful and shouldn't eat anything they don’t know about.

As soon as Little Red Riding Hood left the house, she met a wolf. The wolf was evil, but he pretended to be kind! “Where are you going, Little Red Riding Hood?” he asked. “I’m taking food to my grandmother, who is sick,” said Abigail. The wolf said goodbye and went on his way, and so did Abigail.

Abigail took the longer but safer path, but what Abigail didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to reach their grandmother’s house before her. And so he did.

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! When Abigail arrived at her grandmother’s house, the wolf, dressed in the grandmother’s clothes, pretended to be her to deceive Abigail. Abigail found her grandmother’s appearance strange! “Why are your eyes so big, grandma?” she asked. The wolf, disguised as the grandmother, said it was to see Little Red Riding Hood better. Then Abigail asked, “Why is your nose so big, grandma?” The disguised wolf said it was to smell them better! Then Abigail asked, “Why is your mouth so big, grandma?” The wolf couldn't resist any longer and pounced on Abigail, saying, “It’s to taste you better!”

A wise old woodsman, who had magical powers, was walking through the forest. The old man heard Abigail in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house and saved the child.

The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle, and put him to sleep. Abigail told the woodsman that the wolf had eaten her grandmother, and the woodsman smiled, saying that no evil could defeat goodness! With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf's belly!

Abigail hugged her beloved grandmother! Abigail, wearing her red hood that covered her straight hair, thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food her mother had prepared!

That night, Abigail, her grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Abigail’s mother.
