Once upon a time, there was a child named Isabella who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains…
Isabella’s house was small, but it had big windows that let in the sunshine. The house was snuggled in the mountains, surrounded by tall trees. Isabella loved living in the mountains because it was so quiet and peaceful, but sometimes she wished there were more children her age to play with. But she had her dolls, and they were her best friends. More than anything, she loved her grandmother! Her grandmother had made Isabella a red hood to keep her warm. Everyone called Isabella Little Red Riding Hood because of the hood! The red hood looked so pretty on Isabella, especially because of her green eyes and her blonde, wavy hair.
One day, Isabella’s mother asked her to go to her grandmother’s house in the next valley. “Grandmother is feeling a little sick, and she needs some care,” said her mother. “Go by the road, it’s longer but safer. Don’t take the path through the forest, it’s too dangerous, especially with your funny personality!” Isabella’s mother was always worried about her, because Isabella could be a little silly. But Isabella’s mom loved her dearly!
Isabella’s mother packed a basket full of delicious food for her grandmother. “Nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love!” she said. Isabella, or rather, Little Red Riding Hood, left home with her hood and the basket of food, promising to return the next day. Isabella didn’t eat any of the yummy food in the basket. “I’m saving it for Grandma,” she said to herself with a little giggle. She was very funny!
As soon as she left the house, Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf. The wolf was very evil, but he pretended to be kind. “Where are you going, Little Red Riding Hood?” he asked. “I’m taking food to my grandmother,” said Isabella. “Goodbye!” said the wolf, and went on his way. Isabella went on her way too.
Isabella took the longer but safer path. She skipped along the road, humming a little tune. But what she didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path, and he wanted to reach her grandmother’s house before her. And so he did!
The wolf got to the grandmother’s house first. He ate the old lady in one big bite! Then, the wolf put on the grandmother’s clothes. He even made his voice sound like the old lady. When Little Red Riding Hood arrived at the grandmother’s house, she saw the wolf dressed in her grandmother’s clothes. “Grandma, why are your eyes so big?” asked Isabella. “It’s so I can see you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” said the wolf in a voice like the grandmother’s. “Grandma, why is your nose so big?” asked Isabella. “It’s so I can smell you better, Little Red Riding Hood,” said the wolf. “Grandma, why is your mouth so big?” asked Isabella. The wolf couldn’t resist any longer! He jumped up and shouted, “It’s so I can taste you better, Little Red Riding Hood!”
Just then, a wise old woodsman was walking through the forest. The old man had magical powers. He heard Isabella in trouble. Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house and saved the child!
The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle. He put the wolf to sleep. “The wolf ate my grandmother!” Isabella told the woodsman. “No evil can defeat goodness,” said the woodsman with a smile. With a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly!
Isabella hugged her beloved grandmother. She was so happy! Isabella, wearing her red hood that covered her wavy hair, thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food her mother had prepared.
That night, Isabella, her grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Isabella’s mother.
