Once upon a time, there was a boy named Pedro. He was a friend of Mila, a girl with beautiful black hair, big blue eyes, and a very curious mind. Pedro and Mila loved butterflies, and they would spend hours in the garden, watching them flutter about.
One day, Pedro met Mila in the garden, his face sad. He told Mila that his father had passed away. His father left the family windmill to his oldest brother, a pack mule to his middle brother, and only a cat to Pedro. "How are you going to survive with just a cat?" Mila asked, her eyes wide with concern.
Pedro sighed. Before he could answer, the cat, who had been listening, spoke up. "If you get me a pair of leather boots, I'll prove very useful to you!" He looked up at Mila with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Mila and Pedro, both full of curious energy, decided to help the cat. They went to their piggy bank, where they had saved many coins, and bought the cat the boots. The cat purred with satisfaction. "Do you want to come with me?" he asked. Pedro hesitated, "I want to stay with my brothers," he said. But Mila, always up for an adventure, smiled and said, "Let's go!"
Mila and the cat set off on a journey. They walked through fields of flowers, the cat leaping and bounding with his new boots. As they walked, Mila, in her excitement, revealed her special secret to the cat: she could transform into a butterfly! She fluttered in the air, dazzling the cat with her colorful wings. The cat, in return, showed Mila the strength of his magical powers. They arrived at the enchanted forest near Mila's house in Columbus. The cat, being a good hunter, caught two hens!
The cat had a plan, and Mila, trusting in her friend, followed his lead. They went to the enchanted castle, where the cat gave the hens to one of the king's servants. "These are a gift from a young man who recently moved to the kingdom," the cat explained. The king was delighted, and the hens were quickly accepted into the royal poultry yard. Mila and the cat then set off to meet Pedro.
When they found him playing in the garden, the cat explained what he had done. "But what's the plan?" Pedro asked Mila. She shook her head, still unable to explain. They continued playing until Pedro and Mila decided to swim in the pond. Suddenly, a royal carriage approached! The cat, with a wink at Pedro and Mila, ran off, telling them to stay put. "It's all part of the plan!" he called back.
The cat met the king, who was in the carriage, and said, "Someone has stolen the clothes of my young master, Pedro, and his friend, Mila!" The king, a kind and generous ruler, invited the cat, Pedro, and Mila to ride in the carriage. "I'll arrange for some new clothes!" he promised. Mila, always grateful for kindness, thanked the king.
The cat, with a mischievous grin, then asked the king, "Are you interested in seeing the lands of my young master Pedro?" The king, intrigued, agreed. The cat then directed the carriage towards the castle of a powerful ogre! Pedro didn't understand what was happening, but he and Mila enjoyed the adventure.
When they arrived, the cat jumped out of the carriage first. "Pedro," he said, "show the king around your lands." Pedro and Mila decided to play along, trusting in the cat's mysterious plan.
The cat entered the castle, and soon the wicked ogre asked, "What is a cat doing in my castle?" The clever cat said, "I admire your magical powers greatly. Could you transform into a lion?" As if by magic, the ogre transformed into a lion! The cat then asked, "Could you turn into a mouse?" Wanting to show off his power, the ogre transformed into a mouse. The cat, now a lion, quickly ate the mouse! The castle was now Pedro's! Pedro and Mila could play there as much as they wanted, especially with Mila's superpower of transforming into a butterfly!
The cat, who also had magical powers, turned back into a cat and went to meet the king, Pedro, and Mila. "Come on in!" he said, inviting them into the castle.
The king was dazzled by the incredible castle and even more by the humility of Pedro and Mila. He said, "I'd like to introduce you to my daughter. Perhaps you two would make a beautiful family together."
Pedro and Mila were delighted, but they decided to tell the truth about the cat's adventures. The king, even happier to meet children who carried honesty and good values in their hearts, welcomed them into his family.
After that day, Pedro, Mila, the cat, and the princess played together every day in the enchanted forest garden, since they all shared an interest in butterflies. This truly is a happily ever after!
