Once upon a time, there was a curious and adventurous child named Evelyn. Evelyn had bright red, wavy hair and big, brown eyes. She loved to go on walks, especially in the forest. During these walks, Evelyn would dream about drawing beautiful pictures. One day, Evelyn was exploring a grassy clearing in the middle of the forest. She was watching a trail of ants when she heard some voices.
"Hello! Where are you going?"
Evelyn was curious. "Who is there?" she asked, following the sound of the voices.
"It's us, the piglets!"
Evelyn found three little piglets hiding behind a big tree. They were so funny! One piglet was all wobbly, like a jelly. Another one was super fast, always running in circles. And the third one was very calm, always looking around carefully.
"Do you live in a house?" the piglets asked Evelyn, before even saying hello.
Evelyn was a little confused. "Of course, I live in a house! It's in Seattle, with my family. It's a cozy house!"
"We left our mother's house," said the wobbly piglet. "We are grown up now! Our mom said we should build our own houses. There's a bad wolf in the forest, and he loves to eat piglets!"
"Oh no!" Evelyn said, her eyes wide with worry. She was only three years old, but she knew the wolf was dangerous.
"We can help you!" Evelyn said, her voice full of excitement.
"We can build our houses together!"
Each piglet had an idea. The wobbly piglet wanted to build a house out of straw. She tied it up in big blocks, but she didn't even put in a door or a window! She wanted to finish quickly so she could go play.
"Come on, Evelyn, help me!" she called.
"Wait, we'll help all of you a little bit, so you can play together!" said Evelyn. She loved to play with her superpower - Painting with rainbow colors!
The fast piglet decided to build her house out of wood. She gathered sticks and leaves and built a cabin with a roof, doors, and windows. But she saw her sister playing and didn't want to put in many nails. She went to play too!
Evelyn went to help the calm piglet.
"I want to build a house like my mother's," said the calm piglet. "With bricks, cement, glass windows, and a secure roof."
It took a long time to build a house like that. Evelyn and the piglet sweated a lot, but they laughed as they worked! They could see the other piglets playing and having fun.
When they finally finished the whole house, the calm piglet invited Evelyn to eat something inside. Evelyn was so excited! They could cook something on the wood stove they had built.
That night, the wolf appeared! The piglets and Evelyn were scared! The wolf went straight to the straw house and with just one strong blow, knocked the whole house down! The wobbly piglet ran through the dark forest, the wolf right behind her.
"Oh no!" said Evelyn, her voice trembling. "We can go to our hiding place, Rainbow, if we need to!"
The wolf, who was hungry and didn't want to waste time, went straight to the wooden cabin. It took two strong blows, and soon the house fell apart. The fast piglet ran and found her sister hiding in the forest.
The wolf, already irritated, went to blow down the third house, made of bricks. He blew, blew, blew, and nothing. The house didn't fall. So he decided to go down the chimney! It seemed like a good idea! And when he started to descend, he smelled something burning! His tail was on fire!
This time it was the wolf who was scared. He quickly ran away from there!
The two hiding piglets laughed when they saw the wolf running away. They finally returned to their sister’s house. Along with Evelyn, they had a delicious soup! It felt good to feel welcomed, inside a warm and safe house!
And so, Evelyn and the three little piglets enjoyed that night, realizing that sometimes, good things take time!
