The Ugly Duckling with Sophia

The Ugly Duckling with Sophia

It was summer! The sun was bright and warm, making everything sparkle. The air smelled of flowers and grass, and Sophia loved summer! She had brown, wavy hair, and blue eyes, and she was so funny! Her family had just moved from their house in San Diego to a farm nearby. They wanted to live closer to nature. Sophia loved the farm! She could run and play all day long! She loved using her superpower, Teleportation! She could be anywhere she wanted in just a blink!

There was a beautiful stream on the farm, and a lake where Sophia could swim. She had many animal friends, but the storks were her favorites. They walked so gracefully on their long legs! Sophia would try to imitate them, making funny faces and flapping her arms.

One day, Sophia was playing with the ducklings in the lake when she noticed a duck sitting on eggs! The eggs were starting to crack, and little ducklings were hatching! But one egg, the largest of all, didn't hatch. The duck seemed worried but kept sitting on it.

Days later, Sophia returned to the lake. The duck was gone! The large egg had cracked, and among the ducklings, there was another baby, bigger, with different colored feathers, a different beak, and a different manner. He seemed sad.

Sophia was always making friends with animals. She went to talk to the different duckling. "Why are you sad? There is a whole farm and a beautiful garden to explore!" she said.

The duckling sighed. "I'm sad because I'm different from my siblings. All the other ducks in the lake laugh at me, and I feel bad," he said.

Sophia smiled. "We would love to be your friends! Come play with us tomorrow!" she said. "I have a special hiding place, called Dream world! It's a safe place to play and have fun!"

The next day, Sophia returned to the lake, but the duckling was gone. He was so sad that he decided to leave and try to find other friends. But everywhere he went, the other ducks mocked him. It was a difficult journey for the duckling. The seasons changed, and he always had to move. He didn't feel welcomed anywhere. Only nature embraced him.

Sophia played by the lake every day, but she never saw her duckling friend. She played with her dolls, pretending they were having a tea party.

Spring arrived, and the duckling loved spring! It was like Sophia loved summer! After a long and difficult journey, the duckling found himself near the lake where he was born. He approached cautiously, not wanting his siblings to laugh at him. But when he reached the water's edge, he saw his reflection in the water. He was no longer an ugly duckling. He was a beautiful swan! That's why everyone thought he was so strange!

That day, Sophia went to play in the water. She saw her friend! Sophia was amazed. He was a swan! They had a joyful reunion!

Sophia and the swan understood that being strange wasn't wrong. It was just being who they are! Being strange is being different, and everyone is!

And isn't being different just being who we are?
