Little Red Riding Hood with Emily

Little Red Riding Hood with Emily

Once upon a time, there was a child named Emily who lived with her mother in a little house in the mountains… Emily's house was snuggled in the mountains, just like a bird in a nest. The house was made of wood and had a porch with rocking chairs where Emily and her mother liked to sit and watch the sunset.

Emily loved to play with flowers. She’d pick them, smell them, and even talk to them. But more than anything, Emily adored her grandmother! Her grandmother had sewn a red hood for Emily to keep her warm. Everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood because of it! The hood looked great on Emily, with her brown eyes and blonde hair.

One day, Emily’s mother asked her to go to her grandmother’s house in the next valley. Her grandmother wasn’t feeling well and needed help. "Take the road, Emily," her mother said. "It’s longer, but it’s safer. The forest path is dangerous." Emily’s mother knew her daughter was a caring girl and would do anything to help.

Emily’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food to take to her grandmother. "Nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love!" she said. Emily, or Little Red Riding Hood, left home with her hood and the basket of food, promising to return the next day. Emily resisted eating any of the food. "I’ll save it for Grandma," she thought, smiling.

As soon as Little Red Riding Hood left the house, she met a wolf. He was evil, but he pretended to be kind. "Where are you going, Little Red Riding Hood?" he asked. Emily told him she was taking food to her grandmother. The wolf said goodbye and went on his way. So did Emily.

Emily took the longer but safer path. But what Emily didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to reach her grandmother’s house before her! And so he did.

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! Then, when Emily arrived at her grandmother’s house, the wolf, dressed in the grandmother’s clothes, pretended to be her to deceive Emily!

Emily found her grandmother’s appearance strange. "Grandma, why are your eyes so big?" she asked. The wolf, disguised as the grandmother, said, "It’s to see Little Red Riding Hood better." Then Emily asked, "Grandma, why is your nose so big?" The wolf, still disguised, answered, "It’s to smell you better!" Finally, Emily asked, "Grandma, why is your mouth so big?" The wolf couldn't resist any longer and pounced on Emily, shouting, "It’s to taste you better!"

A wise old woodsman, who had magical powers, was walking through the forest. He heard Emily in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house and saved the child.

The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle, and put him to sleep. Emily told the woodsman that the wolf had eaten her grandmother, and the woodsman smiled, saying, "No evil can defeat goodness!" With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly!

Emily hugged her beloved grandmother! She wore her red hood, which covered her straight hair. She thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food her mother had prepared!

That night, Emily, her grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Emily’s mother.
