Little Red Riding Hood with Oliver

Little Red Riding Hood with Oliver

Once upon a time, there was a child named Oliver who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains. Their house was small but cozy, and it had a big window that looked out over the trees. It was a perfect place to live, especially for a brave boy like Oliver. Oliver loved playing dinosaurs! They would roar and stomp around the house, pretending to be fierce T-Rexes and gentle Triceratops. But more than anything, Oliver adored their grandmother! She was a kind old lady with a big heart and lots of love for Oliver. She had sewn a red hood for Oliver to keep them warm, and because of this, everyone called them Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked great on Oliver, especially considering their black eyes and brown curly hair.

One day, Oliver’s mother asked them to go to their grandmother’s house in the next valley. Their grandmother was feeling a bit sick and needed care. "Oliver," their mother said, "the road is longer but safer. The path through the forest is more dangerous. You are brave, so I know you can take the longer road." Oliver nodded. "Don’t worry, Mom," they said. "I’ll be careful."

Oliver’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food to help care for their grandmother. Nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love! She packed juicy apples, fresh bread, and sweet honey. "Remember," she said, "no eating the food until you reach your grandmother’s house." Oliver, or rather, Little Red Riding Hood, left home with their hood and the basket of food, promising to return the next day. Oliver resisted eating any of the food, considering their brave personality.

As soon as they left the house, Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf. The wolf was evil but pretended to be kind. "Hello there, Little Red Riding Hood," he said. "Where are you going?" Oliver told him they were taking food to their grandmother. "Goodbye then," the wolf said, and he went on his way. And so did Oliver.

Oliver took the longer but safer path, like their mother had suggested. However, what Oliver didn’t know was that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to reach their grandmother’s house before them. And so he did!

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! When Oliver arrived, the wolf, dressed in the grandmother’s clothes, pretended to be her to deceive Oliver.

Oliver found their grandmother’s appearance strange. "Grandmother," they asked, "why are your eyes so big?" The wolf, disguised as the grandmother, said, "It’s to see Little Red Riding Hood better." Then Oliver asked, "Why is your nose so big?" The disguised wolf answered, "It’s to smell you better!" Then Oliver asked, "Why is your mouth so big?" The wolf couldn’t resist any longer and pounced on Oliver, saying, "It’s to taste you better!"

A wise old woodsman, who had magical powers, was walking through the forest. The old man heard Oliver in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house and saved the child.

The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle. He put him to sleep. "The wolf ate my grandmother!" Oliver said. The woodsman smiled. "No evil can defeat goodness," he said. With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly!

Oliver hugged their beloved grandmother! Oliver, wearing their red hood that covered their curly hair, thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food their mother had prepared.

That night, Oliver, their grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by Oliver’s mother. And doesn’t this story make you hungry?
