Once upon a time, there was a boy named Pedro. Pedro was a friend of Lucas, who had curly black hair and green eyes. They played together every day in the garden, because they both loved wild animals.
One day, Pedro met Lucas in the garden, looking very sad. "My father passed away," Pedro said, his voice trembling. "He left the family windmill to my older brother, a pack mule to my middle brother, and only a cat to me."
Lucas was shocked. "A cat? How are you going to survive with just a cat?"
Pedro was quiet, feeling down. Just then, a small, gray cat jumped out of the bushes, meowing loudly. "If you get me a pair of leather boots, I'll prove very useful to you!" the cat said.
Lucas, who was always adventurous, smiled. "We can do that! Let's get you those boots!"
Lucas and Pedro raced to their secret hideout in the forest, where they had saved many coins in a piggy bank. They bought a pair of leather boots for the cat. The cat, looking very pleased, then asked, "Will you come with me? I have a plan!"
Pedro, who wanted to stay with his brothers, said he would stay. But Lucas, never one to turn down an adventure, grabbed his backpack and set off with the cat.
The cat led Lucas to the enchanted forest, which was close to Lucas's house in Charlotte. Along the way, Lucas showed the cat his special power, Animal communication. He could talk to animals!
The cat caught two hens in the forest, thanks to his skills as a hunter. He winked at Lucas. "We'll need these for my plan." Then they headed to the enchanted castle in the forest.
When they reached the castle, the cat gave the hens to a servant. "These are a gift from a young man who has just moved to the kingdom." The servant was very happy to receive the hens!
The cat and Lucas left the castle and raced back to Pedro's garden. "I have a plan!" the cat said to Pedro, who looked confused. "But I can't tell you yet!"
Pedro and Lucas played in the garden, and decided to go for a swim in the nearby pond. Suddenly, a royal carriage appeared! The cat jumped out, meowing loudly, "Stay where you are! It's part of the plan!"
The cat ran to meet the king, who was in the carriage. "Someone has stolen the clothes of my young master!" the cat said. "And Lucas, too!" The king, who was always kind, invited the cat, Lucas, and Pedro to ride in the carriage. "I will arrange for you to have new clothes!"
"Thank you, your Majesty!" said Lucas, who loved adventures.
"And would you be interested in seeing the lands of my young master?" the cat asked the king.
The king, who was very curious, agreed. The cat pointed the carriage towards the castle of a powerful ogre. Pedro was scared, but Lucas was excited!
When they arrived at the castle, the cat jumped out of the carriage. "Pedro, show the king around your lands!" he meowed.
Pedro and Lucas decided to play along while the cat carried out his plan. The cat walked into the castle, and the ogre, who was very grumpy, shouted, "What's a cat doing in my castle?"
The clever cat smiled. "I admire your magical powers! Could you please turn me into a lion?"
Like magic, the ogre turned into a lion! Then the cat asked, "Can you turn into a mouse?"
The ogre, wanting to show off his powers, turned into a mouse.
In a flash, the cat, who was now a lion, ate the mouse! The castle now belonged to Pedro!
The cat turned back into a cat, with a twinkle in his eye. "Come on, let's go inside!" He led the king, Pedro, and Lucas to the castle.
The king was amazed by the beautiful castle. He was even more impressed by Pedro and Lucas's kindness. "My daughter might be a suitable match for you, Pedro," the king said. "You would make a lovely family."
Pedro and Lucas were happy, but they decided to tell the truth. They explained the cat's adventures, and the king was even happier! He loved that they were honest.
From that day on, Pedro, Lucas, the cat, and the princess played together every day in the enchanted forest garden. They all loved wild animals, and had many adventures together.
