Guess what?! Sophia was going to have a super special day at school today - it was Sports Day! She loved to run and jump. "Maybe I can jump as high as a monkey!" Sophia giggled, zipping up her jacket.
"Woof! Woof!" barked Sophia, wagging her tail excitedly. Even though she couldn't jump very high, she loved watching Sophia run!
When they arrived at school, the playground was buzzing with kids and colorful flags. There were hoops for jumping, beanbags to toss, and even a long jump pit filled with soft sand! Sophia's eyes widened with excitement.
"Look!" she cried, pointing to a man dressed in a big, furry monkey costume. The Monkey was doing funny dances and waving to everyone!
Sophia raced over to try the first game. She tossed beanbags into a hoop, her tongue sticking out in concentration. "You're a natural!" the teacher cheered, giving Sophia a high five.
Next, Sophia lined up for the long jump. She took a deep breath and sprinted forward, leaping into the air. She landed with a soft thud in the sand.
"Wow, Sophia, you jumped so far!" exclaimed her friend Lucas. "Almost as far as the monkey!"
Suddenly, everyone heard a loud crash! It was the monkey! He had tripped and fallen into the long jump pit, his costume landing on top of him in a heap!
Sophia knew just what to do. "Don't worry, I'll help!" she declared, rushing to the monkey's side. She carefully helped him out of his costume, giggling at the silly sight.
"Thank you, little one!" the man inside the costume said, patting Sophia's head. "You're a true sport!"
As the day went on, Sophia ran races, played tug-of-war, and even learned a new game with a parachute that billowed like a giant, colorful cloud. She was having so much fun, she almost forgot about wanting to jump like a monkey!
Finally, it was time to go home. Sophia was tired but happy, her cheeks rosy from all the sunshine and excitement.
"Woof!" Sophia barked, licking Sophia's hand. It was a silent agreement: Sports Day was the best!
Back home, Sophia snuggled into bed, dreaming of jumping beanbags, colorful parachutes, and a very clumsy, but very funny, monkey.
