The kitchen smelled like yummy cookies! Scarlett loved cookies. Lily loved cookies too! But Lily was a funny cat. She wagged her tail like a happy puppy when she smelled cookies.
"Lily, you silly cat!" Scarlett giggled. "You want a cookie?"
Lily purred and rubbed against Scarlett's leg. Scarlett was only two years old, but she was super smart! She knew Lily loved treats just as much as she loved scratching posts.
Today was a big day! Mommy said it was time to clean the house, and Scarlett wanted to help. Mommy said even little girls could help with chores.
"Let's start with my toys, Lily!" Scarlett declared.
Scarlett crawled to her toy bin. It was full of colorful blocks, stuffed animals, and her favorite toy spaceship.
"Woof! Woof!"
Lily barked! Scarlett giggled. That silly cat sounded just like a dog! Mommy always said Lily had a great imagination, just like Scarlett.
"You can help too, Lily," Scarlett said. She handed Lily a sparkly pink block. Lily batted it with her paw, sending it rolling across the floor.
"Good job, Lily!" Scarlett clapped her hands.
Scarlett put all the blocks back in the bin, then moved on to her stuffed animals. She carefully stacked them in a corner, making sure her favorite teddy bear was on top.
"Look, Lily, now my toys are all clean!" Scarlett said proudly.
Lily rubbed against Scarlett's legs again, purring loudly. She seemed proud of Scarlett too!
Mommy came into the room with a big smile. "Wow, Scarlett! You did a fantastic job cleaning up your toys!"
"I even had help from Lily," Scarlett said, pointing to her furry friend.
Mommy laughed. "Lily is a great helper, even if she does bark like a dog sometimes."
Scarlett felt happy. Helping with chores was fun! It made Mommy happy, and it made Scarlett feel big and strong.
After cleaning her room, Scarlett helped Mommy dust the furniture and put away the dishes. Lily followed them around, wagging her tail and purring.
By the time they finished all the chores, the house was sparkling clean! Mommy gave Scarlett a big hug and a yummy cookie. Lily got a special cat treat, which she gobbled down in one bite.
Scarlett learned that even little girls could do big things! Helping with chores was fun, especially with her furry friend, Lily, by her side.
