Once upon a time, there was a boy named Pedro. Pedro was a friend of Harper, a girl with blonde, wavy hair and big blue eyes. Harper was really friendly, and both of them loved unicorns! They played together in the garden every day. One day, Pedro met Harper in the garden, looking sad. "My father passed away," he said, "He left the family windmill to my brother, a pack mule to my other brother, and only a cat to me!"
"A cat?!" Harper asked, "How will you survive with just a cat?"
"Don't worry, Harper," said the cat, interrupting them, "I might be a cat, but if you get me a pair of leather boots, I can be very useful!"
Harper and Pedro thought about it. They had saved many coins in their piggy bank, so they went to the market and bought a pair of boots for the cat. "Do you want to come with me?" the cat asked. Pedro said he would stay with his brothers, but Harper, who loved adventures, said, "Yes!" and set off with the cat.
They went to the enchanted forest near Harper's house in San Francisco. The cat, being a good hunter, caught two hens! They flew over the forest, Harper showing the cat her magical power, creating rainbows. "Don't worry, Harper," the cat said, "I have a plan, and you will soon understand!"
They went to the enchanted castle in the forest and gave the hens to one of the king's servants, saying they were a gift from a young man who had recently moved to the kingdom. The hens were well received, and soon the cat and Harper set off to meet Pedro.
When they met Pedro in the garden, the cat told him what he had done. "What's the plan?" asked Pedro. Harper still didn't understand, but she trusted the cat. They played in the garden, and then Pedro and Harper decided to swim in the nearby pond. A royal carriage approached, and the cat ran off, saying, "Stay put! It's all part of the plan!"
The cat met the king, who was in the carriage. "Someone has stolen the clothes of my young master and Harper," the cat said. The kind king invited the cat, Harper, and Pedro to ride in the carriage, promising to arrange new clothes for them! Harper thanked the king, being so friendly.
"Are you interested in seeing the lands of my young master Pedro?" the cat asked the king. The king agreed!
The cat directed the carriage to the castle of a powerful ogre! Pedro didn't know what was happening, but he and Harper enjoyed the adventure! When they arrived, the cat jumped out of the carriage first. "Pedro," he said, "show the king around your lands!" Pedro and Harper decided to play along while the cat carried out his plan.
The cat entered the castle, and soon the wicked ogre asked, "What is a cat doing in my castle?!" The clever cat said, "I greatly admire your magical powers. Could you transform into a lion?" Like magic, the ogre turned into a lion! Then the cat asked, "Could you turn into a mouse?" Wanting to show off his power, the ogre transformed into a mouse!
The cat, now a lion, ate the mouse! Now that castle belonged to Pedro! They could play a lot there, especially with Harper's power to create rainbows!
The cat, who also had magical powers, turned back into a cat and went to meet the king, Pedro, and Harper, inviting them all into the castle!
The king was dazzled by the incredible castle and even more by the humility of Pedro and Harper. "I will introduce my daughter as a potential future match," the king said, "You two might have a beautiful family together!"
Pedro and Harper were delighted! They were eager to meet the princess, but they decided to tell the truth about the cat's adventures.
The king was even happier to meet children who carried honesty and good values in their hearts. After that day, Pedro, Harper, the cat, and the princess played together every day in the enchanted forest garden. They even found a unicorn!
This truly is a happily ever after!
