"Look, Yuna, a talking seashell! It wants to be friends with the ocean!" Emma giggled, holding the shimmering shell to Yuna's furry ear.
Emma and her fluffy puppy, Yuna, were on a special trip. They weren't in their Seattle home anymore! A giant, friendly robot had scooped them up and zoomed them to a secret island. This island was special because it was where the mermaids lived!
Emma learned about respecting others from the robot. "When we respect someone, we listen to them and are kind," the robot had boomed in its deep voice.
Emma wanted to be respectful to the mermaids, so she asked the talking seashell, "How can we help you be friends with the ocean?"
The seashell whispered, "The ocean feels sad because people haven't been respecting it. They throw trash in it and don’t remember it’s alive!"
Emma gasped. "That's not very nice! The ocean is beautiful and has so many amazing creatures."
Suddenly, a wave splashed, and a beautiful mermaid with a glittery tail popped her head out of the water. "Hello! The seashells told us you want to help."
Emma, ever so brave, told the mermaid what the seashells whispered. "We need to be more respectful to the ocean. We have to treat it kindly!"
"You are right!" chirped the mermaid. "Will you help us tell everyone?"
Emma and Yuna nodded excitedly. The mermaid taught them a special song about respecting the ocean. They sang it over and over until Emma knew it by heart.
Then, *poof*! The friendly robot was back. He gently scooped Emma and Yuna back to Seattle.
That night, Emma sang the special ocean song to her mommy and daddy. She even taught it to her friends at school the next day. Everyone loved the song!
From then on, Emma and her friends always remembered to be respectful to the ocean. They knew that when they were kind to the ocean, they were also being kind to the amazing mermaids who lived there! And Yuna? Well, Yuna loved listening to Emma sing and knew that even a little girl like Emma could make a big difference when she treated everyone with kindness and respect!
