"Why do we have to visit the doctor, Dad?" Liam asked, playing with his toy dinosaur.
"Because, little buddy," Dad said, smiling as he ruffled Liam's hair, "doctors help us stay healthy!"
Liam wasn't sure about that. He liked being home, playing with his toys and pretending his bed was a secret cave.
"But what if the doctor wants to give me a shot?" Liam asked, hiding his face in his dinosaur's soft, plush back.
"Maybe," Dad chuckled, "But maybe he'll have stickers instead!"
Liam loved stickers! He put them on his toy dinosaurs, his toy cars, even Dad’s lunchbox sometimes!
Suddenly, Liam had an idea! "What if I hide?" He whispered to his dinosaur.
Liam knew just the spot! He quietly tiptoed to his room and crawled under his bed. It was his secret cave, the perfect hiding place!
Dad peeked into Liam's room. "Liam? Where are you, little buddy?"
Liam giggled quietly from under the bed. He could see Dad's feet walking around.
Just then, something white hopped into the room! It was Cotton, their fluffy white rabbit! Cotton loved exploring.
Cotton hopped towards Liam's bed and wiggled his nose. "Found you!" Dad exclaimed, laughing.
Liam crawled out from under the bed, giggling. "Cotton found me!"
Dad scooped Liam up in a big hug. "I think it’s time we visit the doctor now," he said, tickling Liam.
At the doctor's office, Liam was nervous. He really didn't want a shot! He wished he could fly away like a bird!
The doctor, Dr. Brown, was very nice. He had a funny hat with pictures of… rabbits!
"Look Liam, it's a rabbit, just like Cotton!" Dad said, pointing to the hat.
Liam giggled. Dr. Brown made him laugh. He even had fun playing with the doctor’s stethoscope!
And guess what? Dr. Brown didn’t give Liam a shot! He gave him a big, shiny sticker instead. It was a picture of a… you guessed it, a rabbit!
On the way home, Liam held his dad's hand and smiled. "Going to the doctor wasn’t so bad," he said.
"I told you!" Dad chuckled, "And hey, you got a cool new sticker!"
Liam proudly stuck his rabbit sticker on his shirt. He decided maybe going to the doctor wasn’t so scary after all, especially if it meant getting fun stickers! He even decided that maybe, just maybe, he would wear his new rabbit sticker to his next checkup!
