Little Red Riding Hood with James

Little Red Riding Hood with James

Once upon a time, there was a child named James who lived with their mother in a little house in the mountains… It was a cozy house with a fireplace and a big, comfy bed. James loved their little house and their mother. They were very close. James had curly black hair and big, black eyes, and they were always happy! Their mother said James was the sweetest child in the whole world. But James was a little shy. They liked to play Sleep, and their favorite thing to do was cuddle with their grandmother.

Their grandmother had sewn a red hood to keep James warm, and because of this, everyone called them Little Red Riding Hood. The hood looked great on James, especially considering their black eyes and black hair!

One day, James’s mother asked them to go to their grandmother’s house in the next valley. Their grandmother was feeling a bit sick and needed care. “James, honey,” their mother said, “I need you to go to your grandmother’s house, but please take the road. It’s longer, but it’s safer.”

James nodded. They knew the forest path was a bit scary. They didn’t like the shadows and the noises, and they worried they might meet a wolf. James’s mother explained, “You know, you are a little shy, and we want to keep you safe.”

James’s mother prepared a basket full of delicious food to help care for their grandmother. Nothing helps an illness better than a meal made with love! James, or rather, Little Red Riding Hood, left home with their hood and the basket of food. “I’ll be back tomorrow!” James shouted to their mother. James didn’t want to eat any of the food. James was a little shy, and they didn’t want to eat too much.

As soon as Little Red Riding Hood left the house, they met a wolf. The wolf was big and mean, but he pretended to be kind. “Hello, Little Red Riding Hood,” he said, “Where are you going?” James told him they were taking food to their grandmother. “Goodbye!” the wolf said, and he went on his way.

Little Red Riding Hood took the longer but safer path. They didn’t know that the wolf had taken the forest path and planned to reach their grandmother’s house before them! The wolf was evil, and he was in a hurry. He ran through the trees.

The wolf arrived at the grandmother’s house and ate the old lady in one bite! Then, he put on the grandmother’s clothes. When James arrived at their grandmother’s house, the wolf, dressed in the grandmother’s clothes, pretended to be her to deceive James! “Come in, dear,” the wolf said in a raspy voice, “I’m so glad you came.”

James found their grandmother’s appearance strange. “Grandma,” James asked, “Why are your eyes so big?” The wolf, disguised as the grandmother, said, “It’s to see you better, my dear.” Then James asked, “Grandma, why is your nose so big?” The wolf, disguised as the grandmother, said, “It’s to smell you better!” Then James asked, “Grandma, why is your mouth so big?” The wolf couldn’t resist any longer. He pounced on James! “It’s to taste you better!” he roared.

Luckily, a wise old woodsman was walking through the forest. He had magical powers. The old man heard James in trouble! Before the wolf could eat Little Red Riding Hood, the old man entered the house. He saved the child.

The magical woodsman enchanted the wolf, making him tame and gentle. Then he put the wolf to sleep. James told the woodsman that the wolf had eaten their grandmother. The woodsman smiled. “No evil can defeat goodness!” he said. With just a wave of his hands, he freed the grandmother from the wolf’s belly!

James hugged their beloved grandmother! James, wearing their red hood that covered their curly hair, thanked the woodsman and offered him the delicious food their mother had prepared! That night, James, their grandmother, and the magical woodsman enjoyed the delicious food made by James’s mother.
